Pulpergeist launch!


I am thrilled to announce today my first ever video game: Pulpergeist!

I need to thank Shaun and the team behind Pulp for making this amazing tool. I'd also like to thank everyone in the Playdate Dev forum that took the time to answer my numerous questions.

In the spirit of Pulp, I've decided to release a free version of my game so everyone who's interested has a chance to play it. The free version (under Demo) is an earlier version of the game. It contains all of the puzzles, rooms, items, etc. as the paid version - just with less polish. 

The paid version is the "complete" version of the game and the one I will be focusing on going forward. I've probably spent as much time tweaking the "complete" version as it took to create the entire free version itself, so I feel its price is justified. 

Here's what you'll get in the paid version:

  • a save system (this took a bulk of the time to implement)
  • background music
  • sound fx
  • a complete dialog / UI overhaul
  • various bug fixes (including a pretty bad one very near the end of the game - I do plan on fixing this at some point in the free version as well)
  • maaayybbee some future DLC, depending on interest!

Anyways, I hope everyone enjoys the game! I don't even have my Playdate yet (Group 5 ugh!), so I'm super excited to hear how it plays in the physical world!
